How It Works: Selecting Your Gameplay Branch Once the Timed Research begins, you will be presented with a critical decision. You must select one of three distinct gameplay branches, each offering a unique set of challenges and bonuses:
- 1. The Exploration Path: Perfect for Trainers who love to hit the streets and discover new locations. This path typically focuses on walking distance, spinning PokéStops, and hatching Eggs.
- 2. The Skill Path: Designed for those who have mastered the art of the Poké Ball. Expect tasks focused on making Great or Excellent Throws, catching specific numbers of Pokémon, and utilizing Berries effectively.
- 3. The Battling Path: The go-to choice for competitive players. This branch emphasizes Grunt encounters, Team GO Rocket Leader battles, and participating in Raids or the GO Battle League.
Crucial Strategy: What to Know Before You Choose Before you tap that button, keep these two essential rules in mind:
- Exclusive Rewards & Bonuses: Each path is not just about the tasks; the event bonuses you receive for the week are tied to your choice. If you choose Exploration, you might get a distance-related buff, whereas the Battling path might offer more Stardust from wins.
- The Permanent Choice Rule: Choose wisely! You can only select one single path per event. Once your choice is confirmed, you are locked into those specific tasks and rewards until the Timed Research concludes on May 12. There are no “do-overs,” so pick the path that aligns with your planned activity for the week.
TrainerLoot Tip: Take a look at your inventory and your weekly schedule before deciding. If you know you’ll be stuck in the office, the Skill path might be easier to complete than Exploration. If you’re planning a weekend hike, Exploration is a no-brainer!
