The mystical Fox Pokémon is back, and it is bringing some serious magic. If you missed out on your first chance to snag a 7-Star Delphox stamped with the coveted Mightiest Mark, your second window of opportunity is officially open in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
As of today, May 3, 2026, we are right in the middle of this limited-time event. You only have a few days left to face this fiery foe, and trust us—with its tricky Fairy Tera Type, this Delphox is a bewitching and surprisingly difficult challenge. Here is the complete TrainerLoot guide on how to survive the magic and which Pokémon to bring to the fight.
Event Schedule: Mark Your Calendars Do not wait until the last minute. This special Tera Raid event is strictly timed and will disappear from the map soon:
- Event Ends: Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.
The Threat: The Fairy-Tera Twist While Delphox is traditionally a Fire/Psychic type, this 7-star raid boss features a Fairy Tera Type. This makes it an absolute nightmare for Dragon, Fighting, and Dark-type Pokémon. The Real Challenge: Since it retains its original STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) for Fire and Psychic moves, it perfectly covers its new Fairy weaknesses. If you bring a Steel-type, it will use Fire attacks. If you bring a Poison-type, it will use Psychic attacks. You will need a highly specific strategy to survive.
Best Counters: How to Defeat Fairy Tera Delphox Since Delphox relies heavily on Special Attacks and Fire-type coverage, you absolutely need Pokémon with the Flash Fire ability. This makes you immune to its Fire moves, leaving Delphox struggling to deal damage. Leave your physical tanks at home and bring one of these top-tier counters:
- Heatran: This Fire/Steel Legendary is the absolute MVP of this raid. Thanks to the Flash Fire ability, it absorbs Delphox’s Fire attacks completely. It also naturally resists Fairy and takes neutral damage from Psychic. Equip it with a Shell Bell item and spam Flash Cannon to deal massive, super-effective Steel-type damage.
- Ceruledge: Another fantastic Flash Fire user. Its Fire/Ghost typing makes it immune to Fire and resistant to Fairy moves. You can use Clear Smog to wipe out Delphox’s annoying stat boosts, while safely chipping away at its health.
- Armarouge: Similar to Ceruledge, an Armarouge with Flash Fire will absorb Fire moves, resist Fairy, and heavily resist Psychic. It can use Acid Spray to drastically lower Delphox’s Special Defense, setting up the boss for a quick defeat by your raid team.
How to Find the Raid and Claim Rewards To see those daunting black Tera Raid crystals appear on your Paldean map, ensure your game is online:
- Open the X menu and select Poké Portal.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Choose Check Poké Portal News to update your game with the latest event data.

Even if you have already caught your one “Mightiest Mark” Delphox per save file, you should keep farming these raids. They are absolute gold mines for endgame resources, dropping massive amounts of Fairy Tera Shards, Exp. Candy XL, and high-value treasures like Ability Patches to perfect your competitive teams.
